The lotus grows from mud yet rises above the water and blossoms into beauty.
It therefore becomes a powerful symbol of transmutation:

HUM brings the practice together, representing the integration and indivisibility of compassion and wisdom.

Purpose

Allow the breathing to become comfortable and rhythmic. The mantra may then be repeated silently or aloud while awareness rests within the heart.
