  • Detoxify the Liver and Reduce Toxic Load

Detoxify the Liver and Reduce Toxic Load:

The liver is responsible for detoxifying the body and processing nutrients. Chronic stress, poor diet, and environmental toxins can overwhelm the liver, affecting digestion and overall health. Detoxifying the liver with the essential oils listed below can help improve bile production and support detoxification pathways. Here we are using the three brains approach to accelerate the healing process (increasing vagal tone) of the liver and its processes.

Single Oils: Tarragon, coriander, Thyme, Rosemary Verbenone, Bay Laurel, Carrot Seed, Helichrysum, Greenland Moss, Goldenrod, Guava Leaf

  • The Benefits of Guava Leaf

    Available in:

    5ml

Guava leaves (from the Psidium guajava plant) have been used for centuries in traditional medicine for their wide range of therapeutic properties. Guava leaves are rich in antioxidantsanti-inflammatory compoundsantibacterial agents, and other bioactive compounds, making them valuable for both internal and external health benefits.

    Applications:

Sustained Inhalation, Ointment, Body Tonic, Massage Oil, Salt Bath, Internal (2-3 drops in water)

    1. Antioxidant Properties

    • Guava leaves are rich in antioxidants such as flavonoids (like quercetin and kaempferol) and polyphenols, which help to neutralize free radicals and protect the body’s cells from oxidative damage. This makes guava leaf beneficial for preventing agingreducing oxidative stress, and protecting the body from chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease.

    2. Anti-Inflammatory Effects

    • The compounds in guava leaves help reduce inflammation, which can be beneficial for treating conditions such as arthritisinflammatory bowel disease, and other inflammatory disorders. The flavonoids and tannins in guava leaves help block inflammatory pathways, reducing swelling and pain in affected areas.

    3. Antibacterial and Anti fungal Properties

    • Guava leaves have strong antimicrobial properties. Studies have shown that guava leaf extracts are effective against a range of bacteria and fungi, including Escherichia coli (E. coli)Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans. This makes guava leaf beneficial for wound healingtreating infections, and oral health (as a mouthwash for gingivitis and other oral infections).

    4. Digestive Health

    • Guava leaves are traditionally used to aid digestion. They contain compounds that help to improve gut health by stimulating intestinal motility, relieving diarrhea, and alleviating abdominal pain or cramps. Guava leaf is commonly used to treat gastrointestinal issues like diarrheadysentery, and constipation.
    • Guava leaves have also been shown to have antispasmodic properties, which can help relieve stomach cramps and ease digestive discomfort.

    5. Blood Sugar Regulation

    • Some studies suggest that guava leaves can help regulate blood sugar levels, making them beneficial for managing diabetes. Guava leaf can help by reducing blood glucose levels and improving insulin sensitivity. Guava leaf has been shown to help control fasting blood sugar levels, and guava leaves may also help prevent the long-term complications of diabetes.

    6. Cholesterol-Lowering Effects

    • Guava leaves are known to help lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides while increasing good cholesterol(HDL). This helps in improving overall heart health and reducing the risk of heart disease. The flavonoids and tannins in guava leaves are thought to play a role in this beneficial effect.

    7. Weight Loss Aid

    • Guava leaf extract has been used to support weight loss. Some research suggests that guava leaves can help reduce the absorption of carbohydrates and inhibit the conversion of starch into sugar. This can help in controlling appetitereducing fat accumulation, and supporting healthy weight management.

    8. Skin Health

    • The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of guava leaves make them useful in treating skin conditions like acneeczema, and wounds. Guava leaf can be applied topically to treat blemishesrashes, and irritated skin. It also helps in wound healing by reducing inflammation and preventing infection.
    • Guava leaf can also be used to rinse the scalp, promoting healthy hair and treating dandruff.

    9. Immune System Support

    • The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds in guava leaves play a role in boosting the immune system. Consuming guava leaf may help increase the body’s ability to fight infections and reduce the duration of illnesses like the common cold.

    10. Liver Health

    • Guava leaf has been shown to have protective effects on the liver. The compounds in guava leaves may help in reducing liver damage caused by toxins, alcohol, or other harmful substances. Regular use of guava leaf  may help in maintaining overall liver function and improves liver vagal tone which improves the function of the liver.

    11. Antihistamine Properties:

    • Histamine is a chemical released during allergic reactions that contributes to symptoms like itchingrunny nosesneezing, and swelling. Guava leaves contain flavonoids and polyphenols, which are known to act as natural antihistamines by blocking histamine release and reducing allergic symptoms. These compounds can help relieve the discomfort associated with allergies, such as itching, swelling, and nasal congestion.
    • Guava leaves may help modulate the immune system, making it less likely to overreact to harmless substances (such as pollen, dust, or pet dander), which is the hallmark of an allergic reaction. This regulatory effect can help prevent or reduce the severity of allergic responses.
  • Tinctures by Quick Reference Categories:

    What is a tincture?

tincture is a concentrated herbal extract made by soaking herbs in alcohol or a mixture of alcohol and water. This process extracts the active compounds of the plant, preserving their therapeutic properties. Tinctures are typically used as a form of herbal medicine because they are easy to take, have a long shelf life, and are potent, allowing small doses to provide significant health benefits.

    Application:

Tinctures are to be taken orally only. Take one dropper full internally daily. You may want to follow it with some water or juice..

    How Tinctures are Made:

    Herb Selection:

Fresh or dried herbs are chosen for their medicinal properties.

    Extraction:

The herbs are placed in a glass jar and covered with alcohol, typically grain alchohol, brandy or vodka, which acts as a solvent. The herbs are left to soak for several weeks, with occasional shaking, to allow the alcohol to extract the plant’s active compounds.

Most tinctures are extracted at a 4:1 ratio (4 parts alcohol to 1 part plant material, Plant Prana Tinctures are extracted at a 2:1 ratio making them twice as potent)

    Straining:

After the extraction period, the liquid is strained to remove solid plant matter, leaving the concentrated tincture.

    Storage:

The tincture is then stored in dark glass bottles to protect it from light and preserve its potency.

    Spagyric tinctures:

Spagyric Tinctures are a type of herbal extract that is prepared using multiple extraction methods to enhance their therapeutic potency. These methods include the use of alcoholessential oilsCO2 extractionsresins, and ash (which is created by burning plant material into ash). The process of combining these various extraction techniques makes spagyric tinctures energetically more potent compared to standard tinctures. The additional steps of distilling essential oils, extracting plant resins, and incorporating the plant’s ash amplify the herbal properties, creating a more comprehensive and powerful remedy. This method is rooted in spagyric alchemy, which aims to balance the physical, energetic, and spiritual aspects of the plant to create a holistic therapeutic effect.

    Body Tonics:

Body Tonics are herbal extracts made using a base of alcohol and witch hazel, which serve as a way to apply the active compounds from plants to the body. These tonics typically contain a combination of tincturesessential oils, and sometimes minerals. They are applied topically to the body or specific areas of the body to promote physical healingpsychological healing, and spiritual well-being. Body tonics are often used in alternative healing practices to support overall health, relieve physical discomfort, enhance mental clarity, and facilitate spiritual growth. The combination of plant-based ingredients and minerals helps to nourish, balance, and restore the body, mind, and spirit.

    Benefits of Tinctures:

    Concentration:

Tinctures are highly concentrated, meaning a small dose can be effective.

    Ease of Use:

They are portable, easy to store, and simple to administer, often added to water or taken directly.

    Long Shelf Life:

Alcohol helps preserve the tincture for long periods, sometimes several years, without losing potency.
